How to make a color scan on printer?

I bought MF4370DN cannon printer, it says it got color scanner, but whenever I make scan, the picture is Black and White, are the preferences, where I could set it to color?How to make a color scan on printer?
When you say you take a scan, do you mean a scan to PC, as a file into a graphics program, or are you really meaning take a COPY ?
