no discussion!';!!!What is a good cheap color printer?
EPSON, man :-!What is a good cheap color printer?
Lexmark 1100.
I have had great success with both Epsom and Canon printers. It all depends on what you want to use it for and how much quality you need.

If you can wait a little longer there are great sales on printers around May graduation time and/or Fathers Day
HP makes the best printers as far as I'm concerned. I've owned several, and they just keep on going and going.
You need to distinguish between inexpensive to buy, and inexpensive to operate. Many printers will be inexpensive to buy, but the ink could end up costing you a small fortune, depending on how much you print.

The best overall value, for the last several years running, as rated by Consumer Reports magazine, is delivered by printers made by Canon. Their Pixma printers are great, and you decide on your up-front cost based essentially on how fast you want your printer to print (pages per minute).

You can check it out on their website: http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/control鈥?/a>

From experience, I suggest that if you are just about to buy a printer, that you choose only a current product, ';current'; being defined as a model the manufacturer (still) features on its website. For example, another user above recommended the Pixma iP1000. That printer is no longer listed on Canon's product page (URL above), and thus I would not buy it if I were buying a printer today, even if I happened to run across it.
There are NO cheap printers. You may pay little up front, but the ink is where they get you...big time! Generic inks don't work well, clog up the jets, and you are buying another printer. Printers, as they come, have a greatly reduced ink load as compared to the replacement cartridges. The industry has become so competitive, they have lowered the prices to the bottom, but tell you nothing about cost per print. I have been most pleased with HP products in the long run. Make SURE you turn off the printer when it is not being used! Otherwise, heat will dry out the heads and ruin the printer. And, use only the inks by that manufacturer. You do not save money in the long run by bying cheap ink...been there too.
Cannon Pixma 1000
I like the HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One. HP is very reliable, and this model prints color and B %26amp; W well, xeroxes both well, and also scans. It's easy to use and warms up in a few seconds.
HP is a great printer and the ink refill is cheap. I notice that someone told you lexmark 1100 and that is also a good cheap printer but the ink refills for both color and black is almost as high as the printer. I feel that the HP printers are the best for the money.
