Yellow color not working on brother printer?

I have a Brother MFC-240c multi function inkjet printer. It has been in storage for some time. After 25 cleanings the yellow color will still not work. My question is, if I open the unit up, where exactly do you think the culprit component would be? In the printer head? Is the printer head located on the sliding mechanism?Yellow color not working on brother printer?
Hi,

Maybe the color has gone bad from sitting?Yellow color not working on brother printer?

What laser printer could you recommend for printing good quality color vinyl stickers?

Basically I'm printing vinyl sticker that have quite a bit of color to them. I want them to come out with a very crisp image. I'm thinking between $100 - $250 which may not be realistic, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks. What laser printer could you recommend for printing good quality color vinyl stickers?
If you are looking for a limited run of vinyl stickers, you may want to consider outsourcing rather than spending on a printer. At thintwin.com with specialize in small production run decals and would be happy to assist. We can integrate logos or graphics you have or assist with them from our library. Also we can to B%26amp;W or full color printing as well. Thanks.

Can I use a different number color ink for my printer than indicated?

Ok, I dunno why the ink number for my printer is the most expensive out there. I have an HP PSC 2410 Photosmart All-in-One printer and it takes a 57 tricolor ink and a 56/58 black ink. When i go to buy ink the black is a pretty reasonable $20 or less but the color is like $35 everywhere i go!!

That's really expensive, so I was wondering if I buy a different number color ink (same brand) for my printer, will it fit and work just as well? Or will there be minor/major glitches? Does it really matter if I use a different number than I'm supposed to?Can I use a different number color ink for my printer than indicated?
Generic inks are cheaper and they work too. You may want to consider buying them

If you are buying a different number ink, you need to check if your printer is compatible with it. There is a list of ink cartridges and its compatible printers here http://www.inkjetcartridge101.com/hp-ink鈥?/a>

Can I use a different number color ink for my printer than indicated?
You should check the printer compatibility on the side of any different cartridge numbers you attempt to use.

Basically, inkjet cartridges need to not only ';fit'; but they need to be electrically compatible with the printer as well, as the ink cartridge is not just a box full of ink, but contains the print spray heads and control mechanisms as well (it's why laser printers and/or inkjet refilling is so much more cost-effective for heavy volume printing, you relegate the manufacture of a complex component to being a one-off (or at least not as many times as you refill at least, laser printers need to replace the drum every few ten thousand pages or so usually).

Can I still use my color printer when the 'Magenta' cartridge runs out? ?

The magenta cartridge in my color printer is all out, and I can't use it. Is there some way I can program it to still work? It is an HP Laserjet 3700n. Thanks! Can I still use my color printer when the 'Magenta' cartridge runs out? ?
If that's the only color ink you have, then you have no choice but to buy another cartridge, but if there are other colors, it will still work but only by printing the other colorsCan I still use my color printer when the 'Magenta' cartridge runs out? ?
You can still print in black and white, for sure...if you try to print in color, it will work, but anything that requires that color or a mixture involving that color will simply print without it.

It may be cheaper to buy a new printer than to replace the cartridge. If you do buy a new one, do not get a generic one or refill the old one. I've had to repair a great number of printers with problems stemming from anything but the right cartridge.
Yeah you can use it but the ink wont be on there to see. The ink starts to fade as you notice or you wont have ink and it just prints out a blank page. So buy a new ink cartridge unless you want to print blank pages or have ink smeared!
i think you can..i was printing a picture of taylor lautner with myfriend for a shirt and her printer was ot of ink of everything but magenta...he still looks hot even when hes hot pink!
You can still use it, I think, but it will just be easier to buy a new one, or get the old cartridge refilled, which is generally cheaper.
ya you can

it will either come oout a different color

or get streaky

so you may want to change the color

or geet new ink
You can still use the printer but it won't print the color.
Uh, sure you can, but you won't have any red. All of your pictures (in color, does not affect black) will be made only of yellow and blue (cyan).
You can try to do clean up in the maintenance area of the solutions on your printer software.

sure you should be able to go in and tell your printer to just print B%26amp;W only check in your prefrences section to see if that option is there.
it should still work u just wont be able to use the magenta colour if u go to ur printer settings there shud be an option to use ink tht u have

It is done with simple graphicsI designed a color box using photoshop the printer says the resolution is not enough how can I make it better?
For the printer, I would use 150-300 dpi, but you need to make sure you saved your image at its highest resolution as the printer setting doesn't matter much. Especially if you have a low res image to print from.

Anyone know of a place (besides walmart) that you can get color printer cartridges CHEAP?

I'd suggest http://www.castleink.com. Not only are the cartridges cheap, there is a 100% satisfaction guarantee. This is important because a lot of times there are defects in compatible and remanufactured cartridges. What color ink should I use for my printer?

My dad bought me an ink cartridge kit which is what I use to refill my ink cartridges. The black cartridge is working fine, but the color one has a problem. The kit has three color inks: magenta, yellow, and cyan. I put the magenta ink in, but all the color pictures were pink! So what should I do? Do I mix these colors? What color ink should I use for my printer?

What color uses up the most ink on a printer?

I think I heard that grey and brown use up the most amount of ink. I'm using an inkjet and want to conserve where possible. Thanks! What color uses up the most ink on a printer?
If your printer doesn't have a black ink cartridge, then black is the most ink consuming. If you do, however, have a separate ink cartridge, then you are correct that grey and brown are the worst offenders.

If you're printing a lot of black, consider getting a laser printer. They are for sale at Staples and Officemax for $50 now when on sale, and their printing speeds are much faster. My $50 Samsung printer has been great, and it prints 20 pages/minute.What color uses up the most ink on a printer?
It's not about which color uses which amount, but which colors use more than one tone. For example, a green font will use both the yellow and the cyan tones where a purple will use the cyan and magenta...etc.

With inkjets, the ink use is primarily in which quality you print in (draft, normal, or high) and how think the lines are.

Just use normal or draft whenever possible and use thin lined fonts and the ink will last quite a while.
That depends upon the printer. IN almost all newer printers the answer is actually black, as not only are you using your black cartridge it also underlays all three colours to darken and sharpen the black.
White space uses up the least ink, so to save ink, just print blank pages.
black thats why it comes separate and if you where to mic all colours on a cartridge you would get black too

Does my moniter affect my printer color?

My current moniter is a mess and it's colors are 100% off. However I thought that my computer would still tell the printer to print the correct color even if my moniter isn't showing it. However, I'm starting to wonder, if the in-accurate color of my moniter is what the computer is trying to print? Does anyone know how the printer picks it's colors?Does my moniter affect my printer color?
Aint got a thing to do with your monitor. You could turn your monitor off and it would still print!Does my moniter affect my printer color?
The printer picks its colors using a color profiles. The monitor also has a color profile--but they aren't linked. However, people try to get them as close as possible, so that what you see is what you print. But what you see on your screen shouldn't affect what's printed.
nope it has nothing to do with your monitor it has to do with your printer software :)
your monitor will not effect your printing settings at all. even if you changed your videocard settings on the computer, that would not effect the printer one bit.
The printer gets its directions from the printer driver - that's a set of instructions that tell the printer what to print.

The monitor driver and the printer driver are completely different. The monitor doesn't affect the printer's output.
No, it doesnt matter what color your monitor is, because the software that you're using (wheather its a website, or word processor etc....) has pre-determined pigments. When you print, it will come out normal. hope I was of some help.
    at first glance

    i thought you asked

    ';does my MOTHER affect my printer color';

which made me want to reply

    ';seek counciling!';

    (my bad)
First of all I'd like to mention that it's not as simple as it may seem to get the exact same color printed as the one on the screen.

This said, in most cases there will be a close ressemblance but if the monitor is not set properly or defective you may notice a big difference between the two. That will make it tougher for you to choose the right color on the screen for your print out.
What the printer prints has little to do with what's shown on the monitor. The printer chooses its colors based on what colors are programmed into the document or picture or whatever is being printed...which is where the monitor should be getting the color information, too. If it's not, there may be a problem with your graphics card.

  • What is the best printer to buy, that has individual ink color cartridges?

    Where would one find it?

I want a good one, with each color in a seperate cartridge. Printer must also have scanner and fax features. Thanks. What is the best printer to buy, that has individual ink color cartridges?
It depends on your needs, but you can't go wrong with Canon. I'm looking into upgrading to the MP810 because its wireless capability, LCD screen, and all-in-one features. That goes for $244 on Amazon. You can get a similar one for much cheaper w/o the wireless.

I have been happy with Canon. I currently own a Pixma IP4000 which has transparent individual ink cartridges where you can literally see how ink you have left.

At the time HP, Epson, or Lexmark had didn't have clear cartridges. What is the best printer to buy, that has individual ink color cartridges?
Any Pixma Canon is a good deal since the cartridges are separate and are very CHEAP to replace (about $4.95 each is what I pay).

I print hundreds of pages so I prefer to fill my own cartridges but for those who only do moderate printing, a set of 4 cartidges under $20 is a good deal.
Look for a hp printer. They offer printers that have separate ink cartridges for about 5 colors or so depending on the unit. As for a fax feature, that one is difficult to find combined with a halfway decent photo printer.

Now that I read your question again - you don't say you want a good photo printer, but most printers that have the requirements that your looking for will happen to have photo capabilities as well. As for specifics, try these:

    1.) http://www.bestbuybusiness.com/bbfb/en/U鈥?/a>

    http://www.bestbuybusiness.com/bbfb/en/U鈥?/a>

    3.)

I didn't look into too much detail whether or not they had separate ink cartridges or had fax capabilities, but that's a good site to start at; best buy for business.

    Good luck!!

    -Matt

P.S.(Finally one of your questions I can somewhat answer again, it's been awhile :))

no discussion!';!!!What is a good cheap color printer?
EPSON, man :-!What is a good cheap color printer?
    Lexmark 1100.
I have had great success with both Epsom and Canon printers. It all depends on what you want to use it for and how much quality you need.

If you can wait a little longer there are great sales on printers around May graduation time and/or Fathers Day
HP makes the best printers as far as I'm concerned. I've owned several, and they just keep on going and going.
You need to distinguish between inexpensive to buy, and inexpensive to operate. Many printers will be inexpensive to buy, but the ink could end up costing you a small fortune, depending on how much you print.

The best overall value, for the last several years running, as rated by Consumer Reports magazine, is delivered by printers made by Canon. Their Pixma printers are great, and you decide on your up-front cost based essentially on how fast you want your printer to print (pages per minute).

You can check it out on their website: http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/control鈥?/a>

From experience, I suggest that if you are just about to buy a printer, that you choose only a current product, ';current'; being defined as a model the manufacturer (still) features on its website. For example, another user above recommended the Pixma iP1000. That printer is no longer listed on Canon's product page (URL above), and thus I would not buy it if I were buying a printer today, even if I happened to run across it.
There are NO cheap printers. You may pay little up front, but the ink is where they get you...big time! Generic inks don't work well, clog up the jets, and you are buying another printer. Printers, as they come, have a greatly reduced ink load as compared to the replacement cartridges. The industry has become so competitive, they have lowered the prices to the bottom, but tell you nothing about cost per print. I have been most pleased with HP products in the long run. Make SURE you turn off the printer when it is not being used! Otherwise, heat will dry out the heads and ruin the printer. And, use only the inks by that manufacturer. You do not save money in the long run by bying cheap ink...been there too.
    Cannon Pixma 1000
I like the HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One. HP is very reliable, and this model prints color and B %26amp; W well, xeroxes both well, and also scans. It's easy to use and warms up in a few seconds.
HP is a great printer and the ink refill is cheap. I notice that someone told you lexmark 1100 and that is also a good cheap printer but the ink refills for both color and black is almost as high as the printer. I feel that the HP printers are the best for the money.

:)I have an HP Color laserjet 1600 printer just six months old which do not print Red, Hp asks me to replace it?
Get the help of comsumer Proctectors or try to refill instead of buying a new
I am under the impression that HP has 1 year warranty on its products. If the printer is not printing (and you are assuming that it is the magenta toner), HP should replace the printer. It also depends where you bought the printer from. Places like costco have better warranties than the manufacturers.
There is no issue with the cartridge, however you do need to be very careful with the replacement.

Unfortunately HP does not offer a guarantee on their consumable parts. Thus you will have to replace the magenta toner out of pocket.
mostly red and blue colour is used while printing

    so

i think that there is no more red ink in ur cartridge

refill or get a new one

    take care
honestly, i have an hp printer and it wont even print. and when it does print, it does not print black and prints weird colors. im gonna get a different printer, maybe epson.
take ur cartridge n check it with the same model of printer, if it work with another printer then it's the fault of ur printer but if it do not then surely its the prob of ur cartridge, other wise the best way is to take them to consumer court!

If there is no guarantee why hp speaks of its genuine advantage?I have a HP Color laserjet 1600 printer just six months old which doe not print Red, HP is not solving issue?
Sadly, the most likely problem is the ink cartridge. You can try some things I have done to get extra life out of it. Also note just because it is a new cartridge does not mean it is full when you take it out of the package. Remove the cartridge and shake it, reinstall and try it, if that doesn't work buy a refill kit, or buy just the red ink with a syringe and needle you can add ink. It is not too difficult, many times they have 3 different colored plugs, remove the plug fill with ink, replace the plug and try it. Some times there are no plugs. In that situation you will need to drill a hole. Most refill kits include a drill bit. Instead of using a drill motor, use a battery powered screw driver, if you can or a manual drill motor sometimes called a brace or speed twister. Kits have the instructions, it鈥檚 not that hard. Also take a clean paper towel and clean the nozzle area carefully. If none of this works then it is a electronic component.I have a HP Color laserjet 1600 printer just six months old which doe not print Red, HP is not solving issue?

  • What kind of printer is used to print inexpensive color printouts for a wide variety of documents?

Generally a color laser printer would be best for high output color or black printing since it doesn't use ink, which can get pretty expensive to replace everytime they run out. You would still have to replace the toner cartridge for a laser printer, but they are cheap and last much longer than ink based cartridges.

Laser printers are also fast and precise and are much more affordable these days

What kind of printer is used to print inexpensive color printouts for a wide variety of documents?
any kind that prints color prints. Hey go to local Wal-Mart and pick on up for 30 or 40 bucks.

What printer can print cheaply in very good color & high volume on all kinds of paper?

What's a good brand? What printer can print cheaply in very good color %26amp; high volume on all kinds of paper?
HP hands down makes the best printers. We use them at work -- desktop lasers and color network lasers. They all print fast and print all kinds of paper. The downside to this brand at this particular level (speed, laser, color) is the unit cost of the printer. The ink cartridges aren't cheap either however they last for many thousand pages.

For home printers unless you can afford one from the above group I describe here, you'll have to sacrifice speed. I've got a HP CP1518 I bought at the same time I got my new computer recently. The cartridges are supposed to last well over 1000 pages. Which is good because with a deskjet you don't get many pages between cartridges and you'll literally buy the printer several times over replacing cartridges during its life. But, as I said, you lose speed at this particular level. But I can print on any paper I need and the color quality is excellent. What printer can print cheaply in very good color %26amp; high volume on all kinds of paper?

You are looking for a color laser printer if you are talking about printing on various types of 'plain' bond paper. What do you mean by high volume?

Xerox Phaser printers are my choice. If you have to do more than 50,000 pages a month, then a Xerox Docuprint,

If your looking to cut costs of your printing needs then the refill kits have really got better then they used to be you can now get a refill kit for around 40$ and you get 3 black and 3 primary colors the kit will fill up your cartridges about 3 times. Also you won't do any great damage to your printer but depending on what your printing its going to look like crap. I don't know if this will help you any but when you get more color ink try going into the printer settings and set it to print in gray scale you will need to go back and change it when you need to print with color.
No. Ink is a lubricant for the heads. Some color ink is used even when printing in black for this reason. trying to bypass the way the printer is designed can cause permanent damage.
To be honest with you, that's exactly what I used to do when I didn't need to print in colour for ages and was out of ink; never did any harm to my printer!

I have an HP Officejet 6110 color multifunction printer, scanner, copier, %26amp; fax machine. It works great and connects to the computer via USB cable. Simply setup your printer out of the box, install the software that comes with the printer on a cd, plug the usb cable when when told to do so, and your setup at that point is complete and your ready to start printing. Setup takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on user abilities and knowhow.
    better u try dell !
You do not need to have any kind of specific printer for a Dell computer. ANY printer will work just fine.

All you need to do is find out which printer meets your needs. In other words, go to a store and tell the guy/gal what you intend to do with your printer and they will aim you in the right direction.

From there, all you need to do is follow the directions to hook it up.
well any kind will do personally i would recomend a canon or a lexmark printer, and generally you will hook it up VIA USB port on the back (or front) of your computer, (the only two options other than USB are serial which is old and it won't be used anymore so don't worry about that and Firewire but thats more expensive for the company to supply so they don't.) so yea just the same as a memory stick, or webcam. and it doesn't matter if its Dell Compaq Hp or one i built they will hook in the same way. you may have to use a CD that they supply you with, just do a complete install

    hope i helped
not Lexmark The worst purchase i have ever made

Yes you can use one printer Ink Cartridge to print but it will only print in the colour you have in the printer i.e. if you have black the printer will print in Black, if you have blue the printer will print blue... ;-)Can i use my printer with just 1 ink color?
Yes, but it will only print black. You couldn't print color photos or anything.

Have an HP color printer but it keeps leaking yellow ink onto paper?

it's an older HP printer, not super old, but probably 2-3 years. I want to print this black and white header, but every time I do, there is like this yellow fade. I have tried putting it on high quality grayscale, which didn't help anything. Then I tried ';black print cartridge only'; and the paper came out blank, even though I have a black print cartridge in the printer. ugh, I don't know whats wrong, but why wont this work!? can someone give me any ideas?Have an HP color printer but it keeps leaking yellow ink onto paper?
Just be glad it is ink and not something else, like what is in yellow snow.

Replace the ink cartridge.Have an HP color printer but it keeps leaking yellow ink onto paper?
You should be able to run a nozzle check to see if it needs to be cleaned. If it does, the computer can clean it.

I refilled the black and color cartridges in my printer but it still says low ink even though it prints fine?

It still brings up the message that it's almost out of ink and I should order new ink even though it works perfectly. What should I do?

btw, it's a Dell Photo Printer 924.I refilled the black and color cartridges in my printer but it still says low ink even though it prints fine?
Because Dell does not want you to refill, they prefer you to buy the original ink cartridge. The printer has a built-in detector and meter, it can find out whether it's a new cartridge or a refilled one. If it's new one, the printer will reset the meter to full. If it's a refilled one, the meter won't be reset, just keep on telling you it's run out.

So Just ignore the message.I refilled the black and color cartridges in my printer but it still says low ink even though it prints fine?
There is no way to turn the message about low ink off. If you can get the printer to work this way, and can live with the low ink message and the print quality, then that's fine. If you have issues with the printer, then your solution might be to replace the cartridge with a new Dell Series 5 ink cartridge to get the printer working again.
Don't refill for one. Second, check the docs for it, you may have to reset the printer.

Out of black ink. Can i get lexmark printer to print black text using color ink?

I need to print out something from adobe but it won't let me alter it; so I can't change the color of the text. I have plenty of color but can't find a setting to let me use my color ink to print black tect. Any ideas?Out of black ink. Can i get lexmark printer to print black text using color ink?
Oh, how many times that has happened to me. Depending on who you are printing this for I would go with the darkest blue you can find. When it prints it almost looks black, but may not be suitable for legal papers. Whoops didn't answer your question non vaguely, no you can not print black in color just dark blue.Out of black ink. Can i get lexmark printer to print black text using color ink?
What Dal said is correct. With color, you cannot print black. The darkest blue you can find is the way to go...

From Adobe would be difficult, any way you could save it as a regular document and change the colors? If that doesn't work, you could try the painfully slow method where you use the print screen command (it takes a snapshot of the computer's screen) and paste it into word or a paint program.

Why does my printer run out of color ink when i mostly use black?

i keep losing color ink when i just usually use black ink for txt docs. is there something wrong with this picture or did i do something terrably wrong with my printer settings? I have a EPSON R300 Stylus. Why does my printer run out of color ink when i mostly use black?
when you print, you sould be selecting black and white. Otherwirse, if you're defaulted to color, the printer will mix the colors to give you black. Why does my printer run out of color ink when i mostly use black?
Unless you specifically change your printer settings to use BLACK only, the printer will automatically use the colors to produce BLACK. You should have a manual for the printer or poke around in the Advanced Printer Settings to select the BLACK only cartridge to print black. You will have to manually switch back and forth if printing black only and color prints later...

    Good luck...
Probably, your printer indicates low level in black ink so it makes the black color from the color ink cartridge.
If your printer setup isn't set to black and white only, it draws from both the black and color catridge. That is a little trick the printer companies use to make you purchase color cartridges. My old printer had to be reset to b%26amp;w every time I used it. I got so tired of it that I pulled the color cartidge and sealed it in plastic wrap only putting it in when I needed it. My new one stays set for me though...
Almost every home use printer these days does not use a true black, this is done to enhance grey scale printing, however it requires that the printer use all the colours to darken and sharpen the black in order to get a true black in everyday printing.

There is no way to turn this function off. Setting the printer to black only will just print in greyscale and still utilize the colour cartridges.
It helps if you choose to print text and black and white images in black and white mode. Your color cartridge prints black by mixing all of the colors, and so printing black in color mode uses more ink. Also, consider that the black cartridge is the same size as the color one, but the black is all one color ink, and the color contains three different colors in resevoirs, so less ink per color than the black cart.
Unless you set to use non color, then even some of the other colors mix in the black. Besides they dont give a lot of ink in the cartrage.

  • What's the best color printer?

I need a color printer that delivers excellent documents and photographs of different sizes. I prefer a machine that does not require a change of cartridges every 15 minutes (as my Brothers printer does) and can continue to print if I'm out of a particular toner. What's the best color printer?
It really depends upon what your primary usage is. For lots of documents on a daily basis, laser printers are better and more cost-efficient than color inkjets - but they are more expensive up front. The best photo printers are a completely different story, many of those produce gallery-quality prints but are mediocre at printing text. Once you know which technology you're going with, you can start breaking down which models are best.

    *************

Update: Well, you obviously want a printer with individual color ink tanks, so you don't have to buy a new generic ';color'; cartridge just because you're out of blue. But be careful- you should never print if you're out of a color that your current print job actually needs, that just damages the print heads. But yes, if you're printing a black %26amp; white document it shouldn't matter if the yellow tank is empty.

Canon and Epson both make excellent photo printers. HP makes fantastic general-purpose printers but historically has lagged behind the other two in photo quality. That may no longer be the case, since HP has recently taken top awards with their newer photo printers.

The Canon Pixma MP960 looks like a fantastic all-in-one, a bit pricey though:

How do I make my HP printer print in black using the color cartridge?

I ran out of black ink and was wondering if I could instruct the printer to make a similar color of black using the colored ink cartridge? How do I make my HP printer print in black using the color cartridge?
This actually depends on the printer. ( I wish I knew the exact model) If it says out of ink for black and you cannot proceed because the printer screen keeps saying out of ink then you may have to install a new black ink cartridge. Printers are intelligent this days that it won't do anything else unless you address its need. Most printers that are out of black ink and would still print is automatically using the color combination to produce so called black. How do I make my HP printer print in black using the color cartridge?
Most colour cartridges only have 3 colours in them - cyan (aqua), magenta (pink), and yellow. If your black cartridge is separate, the best you can do is to choose to print in another very similar colour which requires mixing of several of the inks. That way, you've got your best bet of getting the darkest colour possible without black ink. Dark brown's always worth a try, as it is a result of mixing all three colours... but really, you're going to need to buy a new black cartridge.
If you use the color cartridge to print black it comes out a dirty brown/green as the colors do not blend perfectly. Most printers will NOT print using just the color, or will ONLY print the color sections.

Dell A920 Printer: Does the color ink cartridge HAVE to be installed in order for it to work?

I just want to print my stuff with black ink and that cartridge will be full.. i don't want any color but in order for the printer to operate is it mandatory to buy and install the color cartridge?Dell A920 Printer: Does the color ink cartridge HAVE to be installed in order for it to work?
Yes, Dell printers require that all cartridges be installed for the printer to print. Dell printers will still print with an empty cartridges but will propt you to order a new cartridges each time you send a print job to the printer. I would recommend leaving the empty color cartridge in the printer and just set your printer to only print in black and white. Dell sells their printers at a loss and make up the money with expensive cartridges. You might want to just toss the free Dell printer you got with your computer and get an inexpensive laser printer. You can get a Samsung or HP for around 100 dollars and toner cartridges have really low cost per page costs assoicated with them.

Monitor colors dont match with printer color?

I have a picture in my computer monitor and when i print it, it gives a different color. Is there anyway i can match it in the settings or preferences dialog box?Monitor colors dont match with printer color?
Printers and monitors see colurs in very different ways.

There are 2 ways to do this, try to match printer to monitor or try to match monitor to printer.

The matching the monitor to printer is easier.

You can also purchase ';magic eye'; type units that plug into USB port and read colours from your screen and set up a ';screen profile'; for windows, and then does same when it prints a predetermined colour patch set, and then creates a profile for the printer.

Most ';professional'; designers and advertising houses do0 this weekly, or in same cases more often to ensure all devices are calibrated to match, this also needs to be done if you use different paper types.

If you look in a photo pagazine, especislly one dealing in digital you will find adverts for these units.Monitor colors dont match with printer color?
Well,do one thing just reinstall the Printer Driver and check the level of Ink in the Color Cartiredge.
In most cases this problem is caused because you are low on a certain color. I assume you are using an ink jet printer, your jet heads maybe clogged.

Some printers will inform you of your ink levels when you select print. Others will not, its up to you decide this.

You should be able to access your printer setting via your control panel or start%26gt;settings%26gt;printer(Windows XP).

From there you can attempt to clean your ink jet heads.

Additionally, some printers come with configuration programs to help match colors. You may also need to check the printer quality setting this may be set to high and will never recreate to images. This can be checked in the dialog that pops up when you chose to print.

Best Color Printer For Small Business?

I'm looking for a color printer for my chiropractic clinic. We don't do a lot of color printing, maybe 400-500 copies per month. Pictures of kids for our kids board, postcards, newsletter inserts, etc. I am trying to find something more cost effective than running down to the copy shop every time I need something. Is a laser printer better than ink? Is it too expensive to replace the cartridges, and I'm better off using the printer?Best Color Printer For Small Business?
You sound as if you want a versatile printer (stay away from the Dell printers, which are made by Lexmark). You'll find that with the right printer, you actually save gobs of money rather than spending it at the print shop. I generally recommend the HP printers because of their reliabilty and ease of use, as well as their low-or-no-maintenance design.

You mentioned you will be printing: photos/pictures, postcards, newsletter inserts. Inkjet printers are by far the best choice for photo printing because they offer higher print resolutions and more attractive photos. However, laser printers are the better choice for document printing and for newsletters. However, either laser or inkjet would do a good job for you. The main choice you need to make is: Do I care more about cartridge cost or do I care more about print permanence?

Cartridge Cost vs Print Permanence: Certain inkjets will give you the cheapest operating costs in the printing market, while at the same time offering great, professional quality prints...that is, unless they get wet. If you plan on mailing your newsletters printed on an inkjet printer, the recipients may find the ink smudged when it reaches their mailbox. Laser printers, on the other hand, will offer water-resistant prints, though at a higher cost.

    My Recommendations:

If you are on a budget and ink costs are of concern to you, take a look at the Hewlett-Packard K5400 Officejet Pro inkjet printer, which retails for around $149 (and can often be found on sale for $99). This printer offers a great cost of 1.5 cents per black and white print and about 4 cents per color print with the optional XL cartridges (compare that to the print shop!). It handles all types of media including photos and cardstock. It offers professional quality prints, especially if you use high grade media such as presentation paper. This is a single function printer, if you would like a similar printer, but with copy, scan, fax features added, take a look at the HP Officejet Pro L7000 series printers (L7590, L7680, L7780).

If print permanence is more important to you, there is no need to worry. You will still save time and money purchasing a laser printer than if you were to continue using the print shop. I would recommend looking at the HP CP1210 or CP1510 laser printers. These will give you a printing costs of around 20 cents for a full color print. There is also the HP 3600N that will give you about 12 cents per color print, though the cartridges are $130 each (will print 4,000 pages though). Hope all this helps!

    Notes:

-The HP CP1210 is on sale at Best Buy this week for $199

-The HP L7590 is on sale at Best Buy this week for $199

-The HP L7580 can be found at some Best Buy stores on clearance for $149

-All printers go on sale often. A rule of thumb: never pay full price for a printer. Retailers ad match one another and the printer you chose is likely on sale somewhere in your town if you have multiple retail stores. Check your weekly circulars!

-Some printers only come with introductory cartridges. Check the printer box to see exactly what it comes with. Don't rely on a salesperson's word. They will almost always tell you that you have to buy new cartridges immediately.Best Color Printer For Small Business?

If you planned on printing a lot of stuff in blue ink, but didn't want to have the expense of a color printer, and you put blue ink into a printer cartridge and use it in a normally black laserjet printer? Can you put blue ink into a non-color Laserjet printer?
It'd probably work. Make sure you use the right grade of ink though. Too thick, and the print nozzles will clog. Too thin, and the ink will bleed through the paper. Can you put blue ink into a non-color Laserjet printer?
HP Laserjet printers use toner rather than ink. Doublecheck the printer name.

Assuming you in fact have an inkjet, then you shouldn't have any trouble refilling a black cartridge with another color ink, assuming you use the same quality of ink which is used by the manufacturer.

What is the cost per page to print color pages with color laser printer?

That depends on what printer you have.

Cost of cartridges divided by rated number of pages equals cost per page.

For color, just figure out one and times it by three, that is the cost for the color. Black will have to be figured separately and added in.

How can I save printer color?

I print a lot on my HP printer, but it seems I am changing color tank and black tank every two month. They both cost a lot. Can I do something to reduce it, or should I buy a new Laser printer? How can I save printer color?
Changing the tank every two months doesnt sound like a lot.

I bet like most people you print a lot of text. It may be cheaper to buy a laser printer. You can get one for $50 today and it's good for about 2,000 pages. Many of them can be refilled for $5-$10.

I own several printers. I have a cheap black laser for the text jobs which I use most often, a higher end color laser for big jobs and an inkjet for photos. How can I save printer color?
Don't print on High Settings. you only need High Settings for Picture quality. For basic text you can print on Low quality.

Also there is an option that on the printer settings of how much ink it should use. you can set that lower.
You can save ink by setting the printer to draft mode when printing on black and white documents.
You could try refilling the cartridges (what, I think, you're calling tanks)yourself.
